Public Meetup: The file lifecycle and OpenCloud’s experience 🗂️ 📄 📂

Tobias Baader (OpenCloud.eu) will share their experience building a fully open-source, self-hosted file cloud: what worked, and what didn’t.
He’ll walk us through which parts of the envisioned GovStack Building Block are already running in production at OpenCloud, including: Spaces permissions, Federated sharing between independent instances. External identity, WebDAV / Graph API, Versioning
He’ll also be open about where they deliberately said no and where the OpenCloud itself still doesn’t have a good answer yet, such as retention periods and deletion concepts.

We’ll then open up the discussion on lifecycle management of files, documents, and artifacts: should the GovStack Building Block manage the full lifecycle, or plug into existing management tools?
OpenCloud will show how they’ve handled the static parts – versions, metadata, permissions, audit trail, deletion mechanics. But the dynamic part, which rule applies to which document, and for how long, has to come from the process that created it in the first place.
