Code of Conduct

for Women in GovTech Challenge 2025

Purpose

The Women in GovTech Challenge 2025 aims to create a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment where participants can work together to design citizen-centric digital government services. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior to ensure a positive and productive experience for everyone involved.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all participants, mentors, facilitators, organizers, and stakeholders involved in the Women in GovTech Challenge 2025. It covers interactions during virtual and in-person sessions, communication on official platforms (e.g., Slack, Zoom, emails), and any related activities. 

Expected Behavior

Participants are expected to: 

  • Maintain Respect and Professionalism
    • Treat all individuals with courtesy, dignity, and respect, regardless of their background, experience, or opinions.
    • Refrain from discriminatory, derogatory, or offensive language and actions. 
  • Foster Inclusivity and Collaboration 
    • Encourage diverse perspectives and ensure that all voices are heard and valued. 
    • Actively contribute to group activities and support team members in achieving shared goals. 
  • Commit to Integrity and Accountability 
    • Complete assignments, attend sessions, and meet deadlines with honesty and diligence. 
    • Take responsibility for actions and decisions made during the challenge. 
  • Ensure Open and Respectful Communication 
    • Use clear, constructive, and respectful communication in all interactions. 
    • Avoid interrupting, dominating, or dismissing others in discussions. 
  • Adhere to Program Guidelines 
    • Follow all challenge rules, deadlines, and procedures as communicated by the organizing team. 
    • Use provided tools and platforms responsibly.

Zero Tolerance Policy

The following are strictly prohibited: 

  • Harassment or Discrimination 
    • Any form of harassment, including but not limited to sexual, verbal, or physical. 
    • Discrimination based on but not limited to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or age. 
  • Disruptive Conduct 
    • Intentionally disrupting sessions, group activities, or online discussions. 
    • Failing to contribute to team efforts or obstructing group progress. 
  • Unethical Behaviour 
    • Plagiarism, misrepresentation of work, or any form of dishonesty. 
    • Sharing confidential or sensitive information without consent. 
  • Misuse of Platforms 
    • Using official communication channels for inappropriate, non-related, or harmful content. 

 Reporting Violations

Participants are encouraged to report any violations of this Code of Conduct. Reports can be submitted confidentially to the organizing team via:

All reports will be treated with confidentiality and investigated promptly.

Consequences of Violations

Participants who violate this Code of Conduct may face consequences, including but not limited to: 

    1. Warnings: Issued for minor or first-time offenses. 
    2. Removal from Groups: For disruptive or repeated violations. 
    3. Disqualification: Immediate removal from the challenge for severe or persistent violations. 
    4. Revocation of Certificates: In cases of unethical behavior or non-compliance. 

The organizing team reserves the right to take appropriate action as necessary.
